Our shared drain is backing up and needs clearing. Any recommendations of anyone used recently please?

I use One Shot occasionally indoors and it's brilliant, but super strong.

Well I meant a friend or somebody who can read the label. Or might burn your toe's off. Stand well back.

"One Shot, but stand back when doing it or get a man."Is that a disposable man?

I did buy my own drain clearing pipes from amazon a couple of years back and actually they so far have done the trick. OK so it takes longer but it's very satisfying when I realise I've completed it and saved myself a hundred quid.

Thanks Liam. I'll bear that in mind if the problem continues.

I can recommend a guy called Steve: 07947 866199. Very good at tracking down the cause of the blockage and clearing it. Used him a couple of times, and he's also a very nice and trustworthy chap.

Thank you everyone for your helpful comments. I had in mind a company like Dyno Rod but haven't used anyone recently.
If your neighbours are all connected to the one drain then Thames water will deal with it. The best way to talk to Thames Water is via Twitter. They will reply asap.

Sorry, should have been clearer: I meant the front garden. If that part is clear, the problem is in your house and an alternative approach is needed. There are various approaches, try Google for unblocking drains.

We had a problem with a shared drain and it was definitely Thames Water's problem to resolve it. Is it backing up into all premises that share it? If do almost certainly up to Thames Water to fix.

It depends where the blockage is: not as silly as it sounds, because if the blockage is between your house and the main drain in the street it becomes Thames Water's problem and they'll deal with it without charge. You can test this by lifting the drain cover in the garden (assuming you have one, of course) and looking. Hope this helps!
