Laser's can be more expensive to buy but a lot cheaper to run in the long term, with a lot of use. Not usually practical for home use. They're also noisier and larger in my experience.The key reason for choosing one or the other - inkjet v laser - is that if you plan on printing photos, don't even think of buying a laser printer.If you do decide to go inkjet, get one that has separate ink cartidges for each colour, rather one that has a black cartridge and three or four colours in one shared cartridge.
