mothers meet ups or email groups

Hi- I'm moving to Putney in a few weeks from America and for the first time in my adult life will be at home with my kids (2 and 5) rather than working. Are there any mothers or parents groups that meet up for activities? What about local email groups with announcements, classifieds for second hand children's supplies, etc. Thanks,Laura

Welcome to Putney Laura. Being cynical, every coffee shop, bar and restaurant in this area is packed full of small children and buggies so you won't be lonely for long.

There's also Tumble Time at Putney Leisure Centre.  Less than a fiver per child, you just turn up, pay, and let them run riot.  They have a bouncy castle, lots of toys, lots of other kids, and other parents to get to know. Hi,I have a 2 year old and have been at home. Just returning to work. Below are some of the things to do.OutdoorsPutney has and is close to some great outdoor places- Wandsworth Park by the river has a great playground and coffee shop- Bishops Park has a large sand pit and water fountains that we used a lot in the summer. They also have a cafe, duck pond and playground- The wetland centre in Barnes is lovely to explore and see the multitude birds and they also have otters. Cafe is great for lunch- Barnes PondClassesMonkey Music - music and sing along St Mary's church,  Putney has a multitude of classes, so Google and find out what's onPetit Performers at Esquires Coffee shop has various dance, drama and singing classes.GymboreeTeddy TennisLittle KickersPlay GroupsAll Saints ChurchSt Mary's ChurchClubsPurple Dragon (members club for parents and children- quite high member fees)The above is just a selection. There are more.A great app to get is called Hoop, you can see what is on locally and also book from there. Some things are booked in a block and others per class.

Facebook has an SW15 Mums group.  You'll meet parents at the school the 5 year old goes to.Will the 2 year old go to a nursery at all?There are various kids activities, plus summer is coming so lots of families in the parks.in term time there is a drop in centre for pre-school kids in Granard school, or there are a myriad of paid for things around Putney. Arty Fizz is messy fun, there is a gym thing in Putney Exchange and another on the Upper Richmond Road.Also Mumsnet probably has a local group.
