0800 Handyman

I may be a bit behind the times, but discovered the 0800 Handyman shop at the top of the High St today.  I have seen them advertised online but thought they might be very dear.  Well they are a bit, but wondered if anyone had used them?  They seem to be very professional, but I only need lots of bits and pieces doing.Thanks for advice.

We used them to dismantle a sofa which was too big to get out of a doorway.  It was going to the tip and needed to be put into pieces.I went into the shop and had the same experience of no-one getting back to me, so I went in again.  This time someone did contact me and was able to undertake this job for me.It would seem if you don’t chase them up, they don’t get back to you.  very strange way of running a business.

I'll second Emarisa's experience. I needed a job doing. Phoned them: "Somebody will get back to you." They didn't.

Emarisa, that was my worry, they were very friendly, but I thought a bit unenthusiastic when I said I didn't need a professional, but someone to do bits and pieces.Mike, thanks for the tip.

I stopped in about 3 weeks ago too see about getting someone in to adjust some cabinet hinges and level the doors. They didn't ring back that day and when I chased they said they'd ring me back. I'm still waiting. I guess they simply don't want to do the job but it is what a handyman would do isn't it? Or am I missing something!
