@ Caroline WhiteheadIt’s only been going on for years due the deceit of the ex trustees, the current trustees and the CEO, Simon Lee. And given the extent of the deceit, the false representations to residents, levy payers and the Charity Commission followed by the failed attempts and collusion by trustees to cover it up, are you surprised? The WPCC was a cosy club who operated undee the radar, ignoring the law and regulations.  They did so for years.  Over £6 million lost, due to a casual attitude to governance, funds squandered on cocktail parties, a lack of financial rigour and scepticism by incompetent auditors. Threats, collusion, ignoring conflicts of interest with professional advisors, bullying and financial intimidation. An incompetent Chair who thought spending £60,000 to force me out was the answer to all the issues.  A Statutory Inquiry by the sector regulator, an Interim Manager appointed to investigate gerrymandered valuations. You really could not make it up.Levy payers are not stupid, nor are they sheep to be ordered around. It would be good to be able to put all this behind us, and hope that it could never happen again.  But history does repeat itself, and in the case of Mill House, the Royal Wimbledon Golf Club’s private car park and the sale of the access at Putney Hospital, the cosy cabals have got a lot to answer for.Levy payers should not need to police the trustees who are elected to protect the common and ensure good governance. Residents should be able to take the commons for granted. But the commons will continue to diminish, it will happen again and again.  The WPCC needs independent trustees who will respect the 1871 Act and the law, and just as importantly it needs competent managment on a day to day basis. Today it has neither.
