I don't think this will necessarily lead to pubs getting extended license hours, this is so that people can get food when they leave the venues as they close, before going home. We were all young once, and enjoyed going out and having fun. I know this is a bit contrversial, but I don't think people should live near a high street, or on riverfronts where there are bars and restaurants and then have an issue or complain about the noise that the business brings and stop attempts for them to make money/trade. If you want a quiet no noise after a certain time environment live somewhere accordingly I say. Clapham junction, Brixton, Wimbledon, Fulham, they all have late night eateries. Putney has to compete. I'd rather live next to a thriving high street than a dying one.
